This was me at our first market two weeks ago. A very humble table setup that turned out to be the best decision ever! Don’t be fooled by the seemingly quiet images. This was the calm before the fireworks began.
The table fee was just $50, and the venue provided food (actually a three course meal) for the six vendors. Amazing right?
It was the most unexpected experience! I didn’t expect to make a dime, was just looking forward to hanging out my business cards and networking. BUT by the end of the day, I left the venue with #drumroll nearly 10X of the table fee!!!! Just a few teeny $$ short!!
The event started by 7pm and ended by midnight. That was when I realized I could’ve sold more items if I had brought more inventory….
Like I mentioned earlier, I didn’t bring enough inventory because I wasn’t expecting to sell much….how wrong was I. I had folks coming up to my table asking to purchase more items till we were packing up just after midnight!
I couldn’t thank the organizers of this wonderful event enough. It was at a gala award banquet and the venue was a top notch upmarket event centre somewhere in the York region, GTA.
